1970 Oldsmobile SX Convertible

This very well cared for 1970 Cutlass SX convertible is one of the 793 SX Convertibles made, and only a few got the W32 engine.  Built in Linden, NJ it was initially sold in Knoxville TN on October 17, 1969.  According to the current owner’s title, the car was originally titled in Pennsylvania on July 26, 2002.

According to the car’s original cowl tag, the car was painted in Burnished Gold with a white convertible top.  The previous owner had replaced the white top with a black top, and when the white stripe tires were replaced, they were replaced with Firestone Wide Oval.  The spare tire is an original white stripe tire.  Beyond this and a having a replacement battery, the car is very much as it was built.  This is supported by the current owner’s statement, who displayed the car at Hershey, where the only points that were deducted were for the aftermarket battery.

You can even step back in time to 1970.  Complete with the 8-track radio with KC and the Sunshine band ready to play.

The SX W32 engine package is a 455 cubic inch engine with a four-barrel carburetor producing 350 hp and 500 ft lbs of torque.  The SX equipped with the TH400 transmission has been described at the “highway cruiser”. Among its unique features are the side CS badging, dual exhausts with rear bumper cutouts and the dual bright exhaust tips.
